The 45L is a chunky chassis with three intake fans for excellent airflow. Even more impressive is the beefy 240mm liquid cooling system (expandable to 360mm for $80) mounted in its own compartment at the top of the case, dubbed the “Cryo Chamber”. This allows for cooling that rivals DIY enthusiast systems.

New Release: Alienware Aurora R15 Intel Core i9 Raptor Lake GeForce RTX 4090 Gaming PC

with Cryo-Tech water cooling and 1350W power supply

Alienware Aurora R15 13th Gen Intel Core i7-13900KF RTX 4090 Gaming PC with Cryo-Tech Liquid Cooling and 1350W Power Supply

New version

Alienware Aurora R15 13th Gen Intel Core i7-13900KF RTX 4090 Gaming Computer with Cryo-Tech Liquid Cooling and 1350W Power Provide

New for the 2022-2023 season, the Alienware Aurora R15 is Dell’s first-ever PC featuring both the 13th Gen Intel Raptor Lake processor and RTX 40-series GPU. The Intel Core i9-13900KF boasts a turbo clock speed of 5.8 GHz and a whopping 24 cores and 32 threads. It’s significantly more powerful than the i9 Alder Lake, and it gives AMD’s flagship AMD Ryzen 9 7950X a run for its money.

The RTX 4090 is by far the most powerful video card you can get right now. No other GPU, whether from NVIDIA or AMD, comes close. For reference, the RTX 4090 is around 110% faster in 4K gaming than the already impressive RTX 3080. It’s around 60% faster than the previous king, the RTX 3090 Ti. This could very well be the biggest performance upgrade in a single generational gap for the GeForce line of cards.

Should you upgrade your gaming PC?

Of course, the answer depends entirely on your situation. However, in terms of technical advancements, the new CPUs and GPUs this time around are significant upgrades over their predecessors.

Gaming processors to consider

The Intel Core i7 Alder Lake processor is Intel’s 12th generation processor and a pretty big jump in power over any of the previous Intel chips. It’s definitely one of the best upgrades you can make on the Intel platform, especially since most previous Core i7 revisions have been incremental. There’s now an even newer processor, the 13th Gen Raptor Lake, but it’s too new to see any good deals on this processor and the improvement over Alder Lake isn’t worth the price premium.

On the AMD side, the Ryzen 7000 series processors are also a notable step forward. However, these are the latest generation processors and will not go on sale as easily as the AMD 6000 and 5000 series processors. On that note, the AMD 6000 is just a gradual upgrade from the 5000 series and you should consider getting one or the other depending on what offers are available.

Gaming GPUs to Consider

The RTX 30 series video cards are a huge improvement over the RTX 20 series video cards. The RTX 3060 Ti, for example, a “mid-range” card, is as powerful as the RTX 2080 SUPER, the card “top of the range” of previous generations. If you have a video card older than this generation, this will probably be the best upgrade you can make. Sure, the newly released RTX 40 series cards are even better performing, but with the cheapest RTX 40 series card starting at over $1000, the value proposition just isn’t there. .

AMD has decent video cards. The AMD Radeon RX 6850 XT is a bit slower than the RTX 3080 and the RX 6700 XT is a bit slower than the RTX 3070, but these cards lack DLSS and underperform in ray tracing performance. That said, gaming PCs with these AMD cards could potentially cost several hundred dollars less than their NVIDIA counterparts. You shouldn’t count them if you’re taking them for your money’s worth.

PC maker Hewlett Packard announced on Tuesday that it will lay off up to 6,000 employees over the next three years as the slump in the global economy continues to affect the US tech sector.

HP, which employs around 61,000 people, said it aims to achieve $1.4 billion in annual savings through 2025 by following the cost-cutting path of other tech giants such as Meta , Amazon and Twitter, owner of Facebook.

The plan “will allow us to better serve our customers and drive long-term value creation by reducing our costs and reinvesting in key growth initiatives to position our business for the future,” said HP’s CEO, Enrique Lores, in a press release.

Meta announced earlier this month that it would be laying off more than 11,000 of its employees and Twitter saw half of its 7,500 employees cut just days after billionaire Elon Musk bought the company in late October.

“These are the toughest decisions we have to make, as they impact colleagues we care about. We are committed to treating people with care and respect…” a spokesperson said. from HP in an email to AFP.

HP, which makes computer hardware and printers, announced the layoff plan by announcing an 11.2% drop in revenue to $14.8 billion for the last fiscal quarter of 2022.

Sri Lanka’s post-harvest losses in the agricultural sector stand at more than Rs 55 billion, a problem that needs to be addressed as soon as possible, said Minister of Plantation Industries, Dr Ramesh Pathirana.

“As the whole world is heading towards a major food crisis, including Sri Lanka, post-harvest loss is an issue that the government has looked into extensively and there are many proposals underway to address this issue,” he said. said Pathirana on the opening day of “Pro Food, Pro Pack & Ag-biz 2022”, Sri Lanka’s only comprehensive food, agriculture and packaging exhibition, recently launched at BMICH.

This year’s event was the 19th consecutive such exhibition. The three-day exhibition ended on November 19.

The event was organized by the Food Processors Association of Sri Lanka in collaboration with Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services (Pvt) Ltd (LECS). The exhibition was supported and approved by the Ministry of Plantation Industries.

Pathirana added, “Government is now paying particular attention to the growth of the export and manufacturing sectors. But post-harvest losses are also a subject that has been highlighted with crop damage due to wild animals, which also amounts to Rs 55 billion.

“This event which has seen an evolutionary rise over the decades will be held under the theme ‘Farm to Fork’, designating the entire chain of the food industry, which includes and revolves around farms, up to processing, packaging, transport and finally consumption.

“The exhibition could not be held for the past two years due to the global pandemic. But now, with the revival of events in Sri Lanka, this exhibition has sold out. The organizers had planned to hold a large spectacle.

Agri Business Council Chairman Mario de Alwis said the three-day consumer expo and fair will attract a wide audience from all walks of the country.

“The event is a platform to interact with potential buyers and also helps to understand the new

technology used for the sector. Additionally, the event will showcase all facets of the food and beverage industry and include the intricate details and meticulous processes that are required to make food products accessible to the consumer, he said.

Observers added, “The event is renowned for providing a unique and comprehensive platform for the discovery and introduction of food processing, engineering and packaging services, among a host of other benefits for visitors and exhibitors.

“The first pavilion was that of the largest global player in the region, India. More than 50 Indian companies participated in this year’s event, promoted by the Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM). The second pavilion is near the Export Development Board (EDB).

“The “National Packaging Pavilion” present at the show gives SMEs and small businesses the tools and know-how on value-added packaging services.

“The Ministry of Industries sponsored the SME and micro-enterprise pavilion within the

an event. The organizing committee had taken a very good initiative by providing a special pavilion for university students to also exhibit their innovations.

‘A highlight of this year’s event was the Street Food Fiesta and Cooking Studio.

The event has been referred to as ‘a must see’ throughout its existence.’

2022

Given high inflation, the Federal Reserve has raised interest rates six times in 2022 so far and US Treasury yields have risen significantly as a result.

Given the higher yields on Treasuries, many dividend-paying stocks have declined since the start of the year as capital has flowed from dividend-paying stocks into Treasuries, which in some cases offer higher yields. students. As a result, some high-quality, blue-chip dividend-paying stocks have fairly low valuations that could be attractive if the Federal Reserve ultimately wins its war on inflation.

Given the current economic uncertainty, however, the market could fall further if economic data fails to meet expectations. As a result, it might make sense for long-term investors to own a well-diversified portfolio of stocks across many different sectors.

Madison Mid Cap Fund commented on Ross Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ: ROST) in a third quarter 2022 letter to investors,

“Ross Stores is one of our oldest holdings. Its profits have increased enormously since the start of the pandemic, first due to closings and store closures, then pent-up demand for clothing and, more recently, economic uncertainty. Additionally, Ross finds that consumer spending trends in terms of mix and categories have been harder to predict than usual, leading to mismatches between its assortment of merchandise and what shoppers want. This doesn’t appear to be a Ross-specific issue, as other apparel retailers have reported similar issues. We attribute this to the unusual post-pandemic environment, and while we don’t have a crystal ball as to when this will normalize, we believe it will.

Apple’s rapid transition to Arm-based systems-on-chips has shown the industry just how possible such a change is if designed correctly. Canalys analysts estimate that Arm’s architecture is progressing so rapidly that Arm-powered SoCs will take a significant share of the PC market and half of the cloud server market in just four years. But not everyone in the industry is so optimistic.

“By 2026, not 2050 but 2026, in four years half of cloud processors will be ARM-based, 30% of PCs will be ARM-based,” said Steve Brazier, president and CEO of research firm Canalys market, during an event, reports DigiTimes (opens in a new tab). “This is an extraordinary event and an industry-changing event that just hasn’t been taken seriously enough.

The S&P 500 fell on Thursday and bond yields jumped as Federal Reserve officials signaled their campaign to hike rates to curb inflation was far from over.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was little changed, after falling 314 points during the session. The S&P 500 slid 0.41%, while the Nasdaq Composite fell 0.35%.

Stocks rebounded from lows hit earlier in the day as shares of Cisco Systems jumped more than 4%. The networking gear company beat expectations in its fiscal first quarter report and issued an upbeat forecast. Other tech stocks such as Apple and Intel also led gains.

Investors weighed comments from St. Louis Federal Reserve Chairman James Bullard, who said in a speech Thursday that “the key rate is not yet in an area that can be considered sufficiently restrictive”.

“The change in monetary policy stance appears to have had only limited effects on observed inflation, but market prices suggest disinflation is expected in 2023,” Bullard added.

The policy-sensitive 2-year Treasury yield jumped to 4.465% on Thursday, raising fears that higher rates could push the economy into a recession.

“I’m looking at a labor market that’s so tight, I don’t know how you keep bringing that level of inflation down without having a real slowdown, and maybe we even have a contraction in the economy to get there. “said Kansas City Fed President Esther George at the Wall Street Journal Wednesday.

Stocks vulnerable to a recession and higher rates drove losses in the S&P 500. Materials stocks fell, as did consumer discretionary names. Defensive stocks such as health outperformed.

“Additional monetary tightening and the cumulative impact of this year’s rate hikes suggest that recession risks remain elevated,” UBS Global Wealth Management chief investment officer Mark Haefele wrote in a note. “We continue to believe that the macroeconomic preconditions for a sustained recovery – that interest rate cuts and a trough in growth and corporate earnings are on the horizon – are not yet in place.”

TL; DR

  • The company made new hardware announcements during day two of the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit.
  • These include the AR2 Gen 1 for augmented reality hardware and the second generation Snapdragon S5 and S3 sound rigs.
  • The company also announced Oryon, the new name for its cross-platform processor core.

The annual Snapdragon Summit is currently taking place in Hawaii. Yesterday was the big day with a keynote and the launch of the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Today, however, the company has even more to share.

The company launched a variety of products, including the Qualcomm Snapdragon AR2 Gen 1, second-generation S5 and S3 sound platforms, and revealed the name of its next-generation cross-platform processor core known as Orion. Let’s go!

Qualcomm Snapdragon S5 Gen 2 and S3 Gen 2

Inside some headphones and earbuds you will find Qualcomm chips. Newer models of these audio devices come with Snapdragon Sound branding, which Qualcomm wants to be as familiar as THX, Intel Inside, and more. With today’s announcement, the company is expanding its portfolio, improving spatial audio capabilities and, for the first time, expanding its platforms to bring Snapdragon Sound to speakers.

Dynamic Spatial Audio is probably the most exciting announcement here. This will support head tracking, so the sound will dynamically change as you move. This could be a huge boon for gamers as it would allow for much more immersive experiences, especially when combined with the possibility of wireless latency down to just 48ms. Plus there’s the familiar aptX Lossless Bluetooth, LE Audio and improved adaptive noise-cancellation staples on board.

The Snapdragon S5 Gen 2 and S3 Gen 2 chips are also for speakers for the first time. Qualcomm didn’t specify any specific devices or manufacturers, but we should see them and the first earphones land in 2023.

Snapdragon AR2 Gen 1

Snapdragon AR2 Gen1 Distributed Processing

The new Meta Quest Pro is a virtual reality (VR) headset powered by Qualcomm silicon. However, Qualcomm is aiming for augmented reality (AR) with the Snapdragon AR2 Gen 1.

This 4nm chipset is specifically designed for AR applications, including products such as smart glasses. Qualcomm expects future AR glasses to be wirelessly connected to a smartphone. The AR2 Gen 1 is designed to share the workload between the glasses chip and the phone processor, which should allow for more processing power when you need it, but also better battery life when you don’t have one.

With the AR2 Gen 1, Qualcomm is trying to address a bunch of issues that AR glasses are facing.

The AR2 Gen 1 is actually a distributed solution comprising several chips. The main processor is designed to live in the arm of a pair of smart glasses. Meanwhile, a secondary processor known as the AR co-processor would live in the bridge of the glasses and a third connectivity chip in the other arm, with Wi-Fi 7 capabilities. processing power, but also helps distribute heat more evenly and reduces the need for long internal wires.

This multi-chip approach should significantly reduce the size of AR glasses. This could solve one of the biggest problems with AR glasses, which is that they don’t look or match “normal” glasses.

So far, several companies are involved in this project, including LG, Lenovo, Oppo, Xiaomi, TCL, etc. We’ll have to wait and see what kind of products come with this new platform, but Qualcomm says it expects everything from development kits to industrial and even commercial devices.

Qualcomm Orion

Finally, the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit included the announcement of Qualcomm Oryon. This is a new custom CPU core based on its acquisition from Nuvia. Oryon is set to replace its current Kryo processor, but will start in the Snapdragon Compute arena. Qualcomm already has a stake in 4G and 5G connected laptops and hardware, but Oryon aims to take that to the next level.

Overall, Qualcomm didn’t have much to say about Oryon. He did, however, mention that this would be the first step towards a single-platform solution. It’s possible that Qualcomm is moving towards merging the processors in its supported hardware portfolio. The end goal could be the fusion of smartphone/mobile, laptop, automotive and even AR/VR processors. Oryon could be our first glimpse of that future.

We are sure we will know more about Oryon in 2023!

Ransomware attacks are increasingly targeting small business owners. And if you’re not prepared, a ransomware attack can devastate your business. This article will share everything you need to know about how to recover from ransomware.

What is ransomware?

Ransomware is malicious software that installs itself on a computer or mobile device without the user’s knowledge and then encrypts files and data on the device. Then the user is usually presented with a ransom note demanding payment to decrypt the data.

Ransomware can also completely block users from accessing their devices. In some cases, ransomware can even spread to other network devices.

Keeping your devices updated with the latest security patches, using an anti-ransomware program, ignoring emails from unknown sources, and backing up your important data are practical ways to protect your business against ransomware.

Is ransomware recovery possible for a company?

Yes, ransomware recovery is possible for a business. But recovery time and the amount of data lost during recovery can vary significantly, depending on the severity of the attack and the level of preparedness of the business. It becomes easier to recover from a ransomware attack if you have data saved on external storage devices or in the cloud.

How to recover from a ransomware attack

Here is a step-by-step process to recover from a ransomware attack:

1. Don’t Panic

As a business owner, realizing that ransomware has hit your computer systems can be frightening. Your first instinct may be to panic and give in to the abuser’s demands, but it’s important to remember that there are other ways to handle the situation.

The calmer you are, the better you will be able to assess the situation and explore various recovery skills.

2. Disconnect infected devices

A critical step in recovering from a ransomware attack is to disconnect infected devices from the network. This prevents the spread of ransomware and protects other devices connected to the network.

So, as soon as you discover a ransomware infection, quickly disconnect the infected devices from the network or server and any external storage devices. If your infected devices have airplane mode, enable it. Turn off the device if you cannot turn off the internet connection.

3. Check other devices and servers

Once you disconnect the infected devices, you should check the other devices for any signs of encrypted files. Even if you see no signs of data encryption and are suspicious, disconnect all devices and servers from your network. Then scan all computers with reputable anti-ransomware tool.

4. Check all storage devices for infection

After checking all your computer devices, you should scan all your external storage devices in your company. Ransomware often targets all types of storage devices, including hard drives and external storage devices.

5. Verify data exfiltration

Your data can be exfiltrated during the ransomware attack. You should therefore check computer systems and attached storage devices for any signs of data exfiltration.

Monitoring outbound traffic patterns, foreign IP address connections, and a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system can help you detect any data exfiltration incidents.

6. Avoid paying the ransom

When a ransomware attack hits your business, paying the ransom might seem like the quickest way to regain access to your data and get back to work.

But you should not pay the ransom because there is no guarantee that paying the ransom will help you regain access to your files.

Small businesses should back up important files and sensitive data with proper security controls in place. This will help restore data from backups if needed.

7. Check online to find a decryption key

Many websites nowadays offer decryption keys for known ransomware. So you need to search for decryption key online. chances are you will get a decryption key to recover your data.

You can find the decryption key here, here and here.

8. Report the attack to the authorities

You should report the ransomware attack to the relevant authorities. Sometimes the authorities may have a decryption key and help you fully recover your data.

Additionally, some companies are legally required to report ransomware attacks in certain cases. And failure to do so can result in a hefty fine. You should therefore immediately inform the relevant authorities about the ransomware attack.

9. Recover data

It is not always possible to prevent ransomware attacks. This is why it is essential to back up your data regularly. Remove ransomware from your computers and start restoring data from backup to make your system operational.

You should always restore data from your backup if possible, and not from the infected device. This is because there will be data loss even while recovering data from infected devices even if you manage to get a decryption key.

10. Find out how the attack happened

Once you have removed the ransomware from your computers and restored the files, it is time to perform a security audit to find out the reasons behind the ransomware attack. This will help you strengthen the protection against ransomware to avoid any future incidents.

Additionally, you should take the necessary steps to improve the ongoing protection of data in your business. Using cloud-based data backup, creating multiple copies of essential data, and having flexible recovery options available can help you recover quickly from a ransomware attack.

You should note that ransomware attacks are becoming increasingly sophisticated. And more than half of ransomware infections are caused by phishing attacks.

Training your employees in cybersecurity best practices can help prevent ransomware attacks.

Can System Recovery remove ransomware?

System Restore does not always remove ransomware because ransomware often hides in files that System Restore does not modify.

Is Ransomware data recovery easy to do?

It depends. If you have a backup of your critical data, recovery from ransomware is easy. If you don’t have data saved in local backup solution or cloud storage, it is not easy to recover ransomware data.

It is therefore imperative to have a disaster recovery plan in place against ransomware.

How long does it take to recover from a ransomware attack?

The average recovery time after a ransomware attack is one month. But the actual recovery time depends on the type of ransomware, how your computer was infected in the first place, and what kind of data availability or data backup (if any) you have.

How much does it cost to recover from a ransomware attack?

The average cost to recover from a ransomware attack is $1.4 million. But the actual cost of ransomware recovery can vary widely depending on the size and complexity of the organization, the type of data encrypted, and the availability (or lack thereof) of backed up data.

Chinese PC maker HIGOLE has produced a tiny computer that blurs the lines between tablets and miniature desktops for years. But the company’s latest GOLE1 models are a bit different.

Whereas former members of the formation introduced Intel processors, the new GOLE1 R is a compact computer with a Rockchip RK3588 ARM processor, 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of eMMC storage, a 5.5 inch touch screen and Android software. It’s up for pre-order via a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign. But it’s also just one of two new models that HIGOLE is offering via Kickstarter.

While the GOLE1 R has a 5.5-inch screen and built-in battery, allowing you to use it as a small, chunky tablet, there’s also a GOLE1 RN that doesn’t have a screen or battery. Designed to be used as a mini-desktop rather than a portable device, it’s a bit cheaper than the GOLE1 R, but the stationary model has at least one advantage: it has an M.2 slot that you can use to add an SSD.

Both models feature LPDDR4 memory, eMMC storage, microSD card reader and full-size ports including:

  • 1x Gigabit Ethernet
  • 1 HDMI 2.1 output
  • 1 HDMI 1.4 input
  • 1 x USB Type-C (for power, DisplayPort or USB functionality)
  • 4 USB 3.0 Type-A ports
  • 1 x 3.5mm audio jack
  • 1 x IR port for use with remote controls

The small computers also support WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 and come with Android 12 software, although HIGOLE notes that they do. not ship with the Google Play Store or other Google services. You should, however, be able to download apps. And the systems should also be compatible with Linux-based operating systems supporting the RK3588 processor.

The RK3588 processor is an octa-core chip with four 2.4GHz ARM Cortex-A76 processor cores, four 1.8GHz Cortex-A55 cores, Mali-G610 MP4 graphics, neural processing unit with up to to 6 TOP performance and 8K video support. proofreading.

But there are cheaper ways to get your hands on a desktop mini with this chip. The GOLE1 RN costs $300 during crowdfunding, while the GOLE1 R costs $353. But the FriendlyELEC NanoPi R6S single board computer with an RK3588S chip retails for just $119, and the pi orange 5 has the same processor and a starting price of just $69.

So I’m not particularly convinced that the GOLE1 RN is a very good deal. But the GOLE1 R might be slightly more appealing thanks to its tablet-like features, including a touchscreen, 2500mAh battery, mic, speaker, and G-sensor for auto screen rotation.
