YouthBuild New Bedford wants you
[ad_1]
YouthBuild New Bedford has been part of the community for over 25 years, helping young people between the ages of 16 and 24 find their way to a better life.
Right now, YouthBuild is looking to recruit young people for its 10 week class starting in October.
Lisa Mello-Frost, Director of YouthBuild New Bedford and Melissa Correia, Program Director, visited Town square sunday this week and talked about this second chance program for kids to get a high school diploma or GED and learn a trade along the way.
The program provides training for men and women in construction work or as a certified nursing assistant. According to Mello-Frost, the young people involved can be paid while undergoing their training.
YouthBuild is part of the PACE organization in New Bedford and over the years has given hope and a new start to over 1,000 young people. Many are now succeeding in good jobs and moving forward with their lives.
Mello-Frost and Correia said that if you know someone without a high school diploma between the ages of 16 and 24, then YouthBuild may be for them.
Town square sunday is a weekly public affairs program that airs Sunday mornings on 1420 WBSM. The program shines a spotlight on local people and organizations working to make the South Coast a better place to live and work.
If you want your organization to be listed on Town square sunday, please email the host at [email protected].
