The Income Tax Department recovered money worth 17,500 rupees in the raid on Saturday at the premises of party official Samajwadi Rajeev Rai, a close associate of party leader Akhilesh Yadav.

IT also seized details of calls, emails, hard drives and computers during the 15-hour raid.

The IT department raided four of Rajiv Rai’s premises, including his residence at Mau’s Sahadatpura.
