New high-performance, low-power Supermicro Edge systems expand Edge solution portfolio – unlocking new telecom, industrial and intelligent edge opportunities
“These new Servers based on the Intel Xeon D processor are ideal for telecom, industrial or smart edge solutions,” said Mory Lin, GM, IoT/Embedded & Edge Computing, Supermicro. “The systems offer up to 512 GB of DRAM, multiple I/O and storage options, and support for PCI-E 4.0. Our industry-leading Building Block Solutions® server provides customers with optimized solutions designed to leverage full advantage of Intel Xeon D processors.”
The SYS-E300 integrates an Intel Xeon D processor with 4, 8 or 10 cores and up to 256 GB of DDR4 memory in a 1U mini-server enclosure. The SYS-510D model offers greater amounts of storage and a total of 4x1G and 2x25G Ethernet ports, while the SYS-110D servers contain processors with up to 20 cores and 512 GB of memory. Each system features the Intel Xeon D processor and is the most innovative system-on-chip designed for the edge with embedded AI, security, advanced I/O, and dense computing. In addition, these systems provide high data throughput and meet critical edge requirements demanded by enterprises.
Organizations that provide services at the edge will benefit from these new systems to process increasing amounts of data acquired at the edge. The Supermicro SYS-110D server features a single Intel Xeon D processor, with a TDP up to 125W and a PCI-E 4.0×16 slot. Various I/O options are available and up to two 2.5″ SATA/U.2 drives can be installed. Redundant power supplies are available whether AC or DC power is required.
“The new Intel Xeon-D processors are purpose-built for network edge processing, with dense compute and high-performance network connectivity that deliver the high data throughput from the edge that enterprises demand. With a solution ecosystem that leverages the latest Intel technology, such as solutions announced by Supermicro, continues to activate the ecosystem by leveraging the latest Intel technology, which we help enable a wide range of businesses to reduce their cost total ownership and meet the high demands of their users,” said Jeni PanhorstIntel VP & GM, Network & Edge Platforms Division.
The SYS-E300 product line contains up to two SATA drives. Popular application areas are networking applications such as firewalls and universal customer premises equipment, which consolidates computing and networking needs into a compact, easy-to-use form factor .
