American Express has an excellent portfolio of small business cards, and the cards often have increased welcome bonuses. In fact, many card issuers have focused on small business cards over the past few years, and you will often find that they offer better bonuses and welcome benefits than personal cards.

For those who may not be familiar with the process of requesting business cards, in this article I wanted to talk about Amex Small Business Cards – what offers are available, what are the benefits of requesting Amex Business Cards, and how. do you have to proceed on the application?

There are several great American Express business cards out there, including some cards that earn Membership Rewards points and some co-branded cards that can earn you valuable airline or hotel rewards.

Benefits of applying for Amex business cards

There are a few things to know specifically about applying for Amex business cards. For the record :

  • The request for Amex business cards does not count towards Chase’s 5/24 limit; this is because these requests are usually not reported on your personal credit report
  • If you already have an Amex card and apply for another Amex card, your credit will not initially be withdrawn; this means that if you get a preliminary denial based on existing information it will not affect your credit score
  • Among business credit cards, I find Amex cards to be much easier to approve than Chase or Citi cards, so this is a great place to start if you’re getting your first business card.

Restrictions on requesting Amex business cards

Amex’s general restrictions on card applications are as follows:

  • You can generally have at most five Amex credit cards at any one time, which does not include hybrid cards, like Amex Business Gold; it doesn’t matter if the credit cards are personal or business
  • You can generally be approved for no more than two American Express credit cards in 90 days, although there are some inconsistencies in this regard.

How to complete an Amex business card request

Those who already have business credit cards are probably familiar with the application process, but for those who don’t, here’s what you need to know.

It can be intimidating to apply for your first business credit card, even if you are a small business or sole proprietorship you should qualify. When applying for an Amex business card, you will be asked the following questions:

  • Legal trade name
  • Business address and telephone number
  • type of industry
  • Company structure
  • Years of activity
  • Number of employees
  • Annual sales
  • Estimated monthly expenses
  • Federal tax identification number

If you are a sole proprietorship, how should you go about it? First and foremost, answer everything honestly. I think the concern that a lot of people have is that they think they need an incorporated business, a separate office, etc. in order to be considered for a card. visit. This is not the case:

  • You can use your name as the legal name of your business
  • Business address and phone number may be the same as your home address and phone number
  • You can select “other” as the industry type, if this is the case.
  • If you are a sole proprietorship, you can select it as your business structure
  • In terms of years of activity, there’s no shame in saying it’s been less than a year, one to two years, etc.
  • In terms of number of employees, to say that one is perfectly good
  • For federal tax ID number, you can put your social security number

While a lot of people are intimidated by asking for their first business card, I think most are pleasantly surprised at the results. Again, the most important thing is to always be truthful about the app.

Final result

American Express business cards can be great additions to your wallet, so hopefully this will be useful for anyone who hasn’t applied for an Amex business card yet. Even if you are not someone who has requested Amex business cards before, you might be pleasantly surprised with the results.

Right now, there are particularly great offers on Amex Business Cards, especially Delta Cards, Hilton Cards, and Amex Business Gold.
