The Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) approached the market looking for additional vendors to join its government-wide hardware market.

The DTA is looking for participants for the following categories: corporate storage, network equipment, data cabling services, end user computer, corporate computer, video collaboration systems, and mobile phones and smart devices. He noted that suppliers can apply for any or all of the seven categories.

Existing panelists admitted to a category do not need to reapply in those categories. Instead, they can apply to the admitted categories in which they are not already registered, the DTA said.

Applicants wishing to be accepted into the hardware market will be assessed on the basis of their technical merit, business ability, benefits to the Australian economy, risks, prices and added value.

According to the DTA, it will reopen each category to the hardware market each year so that new entries can be submitted or existing sellers can apply for additional categories.

Suppliers have until August 26, 2021 to submit their submission. The DTA expects the application review process to be completed by December for deals to begin from January 2022.

Last July, the DTA approached the market looking for new suppliers to help refresh four categories of its hardware market.

The four categories were end-user computing, business computing, video collaboration system devices and services, and mobile phones and smart devices.

The hardware market, when it launched in September 2018, replaced several expired IT procurement panels.

The DTA said the Commonwealth’s average annual capital expenditure for equipment available in the hardware market, excluding software and services, is around A $ 400 million.
