Dell has an Alienware Intel i7 Alder Lake DDR5 RTX 3080 gaming PC that will ship in December

I recently built a new Intel PC for myself and was blown away at the cost of some of these new components. Right now, Intel and NVIDIA hold titles for the best gaming processors and GPUs on the market, but sourcing their products can be a nightmare. We should all know by now how hard it is to get hold of an RTX 30 series video card at retail. It is practically impossible to connect online. On eBay, an RTX 3080 video sells for over 1600 $ (if you forgot, the MSRP of an RTX 3080 starts at $ 700). Your best bet would be to walk into a local Best Buy and hope your trip wasn’t just a waste of time.

It’s not even finished. Intel has released its new 12th gen Alder Lake processors, and they’ve proven to outperform the AMD Ryzen 7 and 9. Processors are readily available, but the costs for Z690 motherboards and DDR5 RAM are downright ludicrous. . DDR5, in particular, cannot be found anywhere other than eBay. 32 GB of RAM costs it … and I’m not kidding … $ 900. The best option is to stick with DDR4, but there aren’t as many DDR4 cards available, and you’ll still have to pay over $ 200. The last nitpick is the cooler compatibility. The vast majority of existing chillers, both air and AIO, do not come equipped with an LGA 1700 bracket. You will need to email your chiller manufacturer and request one. For many of these manufacturers, there is a shortage of LGA 1700 mounting brackets, and again, this will delay your build. Time is money.

This makes these new Dell Alienware Aurora R13 gaming PCs all the more tempting. Bluntly dubbed the “R13”, Dell’s new flagship gaming PC features a number of improvements in aesthetics, quality of life and performance over its predecessors. In terms of durability, the Alienware Aurora R13 is the first Alienware PC to be equipped with the latest 12th generation Intel Alder Lake processors. This is paired with a Z690 based motherboard that accepts DDR5 RAM. This proves that DDR5 RAM actually exists in nature. Your video card options are also great; choose your choice of RTX 30 series video card, from RTX 3060 Ti to RTX 3090, own expense of course. Perhaps the best news? According to Dell’s website, these configurations ship in mid-December.

Normally there would be naysayers claiming that you could build the same quality rig for a cheaper price. As long as you know how to find deals, it is certainly not far from the truth. But we live in a whole different world, knowing that supply and demand have killed price sensitivity. And we also have to take the weather into account. Technology is changing so rapidly that the value of our PC components is depreciating at a frightening rate. Waiting a few months for a current generation part is not necessarily the best option, especially if those “few months” can stretch over several months. Under these circumstances, Dell offers an incredibly powerful and stylish gaming platform with all the unobtainable components you could hope for, at a reasonable price and time. The only other sensible option is to go for AMD.
