Those who wish to dispose of and recycle their computers, office equipment, microwaves and other electronics can drop them off at the next e-bike collection event, which is scheduled for Saturday, October 16.

The drop-off event will take place in the Hog Pavilion at the Washington Town & Country Fairgrounds from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Those coming to the event are encouraged to use the fairground entrance off Veterans Drive. Exit will be through the North Gate of the Fairgrounds on North Park Drive.

According to city officials, acceptable items for this year’s collection include computers and computer components, office equipment, microwaves, vacuum cleaners and “basically anything that has a cord.” A fee of $ 20 will be charged for all televisions and monitors under 32 inches brought to the e-cycle event. A fee of $ 30 will be charged for televisions and monitors larger than 32 inches. All floor models will have a deposit fee of $ 50.

All other appliances, such as washers, dryers or refrigerators, can be dropped off at the city’s recycling center during regular business hours. The recycling center is located at 400 Recycle Drive and is closed Sunday and Monday. It is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Tuesday to Thursday and open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
