CBI arrests assistant engine driver from Rourkela


Rourkela: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an assistant locomotive driver from Odisha for his alleged involvement in pornography racketeering.

Ajit Kumar, the assistant engine driver stationed at Rourkela Station, was arrested by the Rourkela CBI on Sunday evening in connection with the porn movie racketeering case. Later he was taken to New Delhi on a flight from Bhubaneswar. The investigative agency informed the Rourkela railway authorities on Wednesday of his arrest.

During the investigation into the alleged pornography racket, CBI uncovered the involvement of Ajit Kumar, who was allegedly involved in the railway recruitment scam with the former railway minister of India. Union Lalu Prasad Yadav under the UPA government.

According to media reports, Ajit Kumar was producing pornographic films featuring underage girls and distributing these nude films to other countries, especially Pakistan, via email.

The accused was in the spotlight in the pornography racketeering case being investigated by the CBI. A team from the investigative agency had recently traveled to Rourkela in connection with the case. After tracking down emails secretly used by Ajit Kumar, another CBI team raided his residence in Bihar where they seized two hard drives containing porn movies of underage girls. Based on extensive evidence collected during the investigation, the CBI team nabbed the defendant from Rourkela on Sunday.

However, no official confirmation of the arrest of the assistant engine driver in the case has yet been made by railway authorities.
