And now there are rumors that the tech creator is also planning to enter the smartphone industry by developing advanced chipsets for various brands of handsets. However, AMD has not confirmed which smartphone makers it will work with.

Qualcomm, one of the top smartphone SoC makers, could face a major threat from AMD products if the current speculation is true.

According to GizChina’s latest report, various speculations indicated that AMD may be working on high-end chips for tablets and smartphones.

The company is expected to do so in partnership with MediaTek, another giant SoC creator. At the moment, Intel and other manufacturers are also making chipsets for smartphones. However, their activities are mainly focused on the PC market.

It is still unclear whether AMD will change the trend by moving mainly to the smartphone industry. Right now, the best thing you can do as a consumer is to wait for the actual announcements from the business.

The arrival of the AMD smartphone SoC

GizBot reported that SoC rumors for AMD smartphones could be confirmed by the company once Samsung Exynos 2200 arrives with the AMD GPU.

On the other hand, there are rumors that AMD’s handset chipsets are already in development. But, the giant tech creator has yet to confirm this information.

Consumers could expect more capable smartphone SoCs from AMD, as the company has already proven its expertise in developing advanced gadget components.
