63 aspirants, 15 officers detained so far in police officer recruitment exam paper leak case: The Tribune India

As many as 91 people, including 15 agents and intermediaries, 63 candidates and fathers of three candidates, have been arrested so far in the case of leaking policeman recruitment examination documents by the special investigation team. (SIT).

National level criminals are involved in major paper leaks in the country. The modus operandi was to find the weakest link and the gap in the process of publishing the document, then to contact the candidates through agents and coaching institutions.

One of the kingpins arrested in Varanasi, Shiv Bhadur Singh, was involved in several paper leaks, police sources claimed.

Of the 15 agents and intermediaries, 10 were from other states. Several police teams, including those dealing with investigation, documentation, conducting cyber investigations, interrogations, etc., have been formed to investigate the case and the SIT is preparing the documentation to turn the case over to the CBI.

The SIT had recovered Rs 10.34 lakh from the agents, five cars, 137 mobile phones, four laptops, 10 hard drives, the candidates’ original certificates (matrix and plus two) from the agents and institutes involved in addition to passbooks, checkbooks , pan cards, Aadhar cards, ATM cards, attendance register, visitor register, photo copy of flight tickets, IDs and screenshot of Whatsapp chat during the survey.
